Leander ISD's Special Education Services provides specialized instruction with supports of accommodations and modifications to meet the needs of our highly diverse student population. Our goal is to center your child's learning on the LISD vision by producing individualized education plans to students with disabilities. The program links highly qualified educators to research-based curriculum made accessible through specialized instruction.

Evaluation Services

体育滚球投注The placement of a student in special education is driven by assessment. The assessment will produce a Full and Individualized Evaluation (FIE), which will assist in determining the presence of a disability and identify any educational need for specialized instruction.

Transition Services

In LISD, the goal of transition planning and services is to graduate students to meaningful, sustainable lives, regardless of their disability. Our system capitalizes on the collaboration between the student, family and staff to guide not only academics, but also develop other skills that are important for a student's future.

Child Find

The purpose of Child Find is to locate, identify and evaluate children from birth to 21 years of age and their possible need for special education and related services. Child Find is a free referral and information service available through local education agencies and Service Center Region XIII.

Children learn at different rates, but some children have significant difficulty. We're here to help you access services to meet the unique learning needs of your child. If you are concerned your child may be learning, playing or interacting differently from others, please call our office at 512-570-0350 or email child.find@ball-accuracy.com.

Parent Information

Special Education Parent Support meetings have transitioned to a virtual platform for the rest of this school year. These meetings are open to parents of children receiving Special Education Services.

Senate Bill 507 - Cameras in Special Education Classrooms

Overview

Texas Education Code §29.022 (Senate Bill 507) requires school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to place video cameras with audio recording capability in certain self-contained classrooms and other special education settings  for students with disabilities beginning in the 2016–17 school year. Cameras may be placed in these areas upon the request of a parent, trustee or staff member, in order to ensure the safety of students with disabilities in these classrooms.

Procedures for Requesting Video/Audio Recording

A parent, trustee or staff member may make a request for installation and operation of video/audio recording equipment in a self-contained classroom or other special education setting by completing and submitting a Request for the Installation of Video and Audio Recording Equipment form. The form can be obtained by emailing camera.request@ball-accuracy.com.
